Hey everyone.. I know, I know it's been a while. Some good friends have let me know that I need to get back on track with my blog, so when I heard from Emily over at Mia Bridal Couture that she was going to be throwing a crazy sample sale on some of the most amazing wedding gowns in town I had to do a quick post about it.. So below is the deets from Emily  to the craziness. And let me tell you. If you or someone you know is in the market for an amazing gown GO THIS WEEKEND TO MIA BRIDAL...  You won't regret it. They are some of the best in the biz..

(just so you know, I copied and pasted ;)

There are only FOUR more days until Mia's monumental Sunday Sample Sale on April 3rd.  So in the spirit here are our Top Ten Tips for finding the perfect Sample Sale Dress:

  1. Arrive Early - There are no appointments, so to get the best, you need to be thefirst.
  2. Do Your Homework - Know what type of silhouette looks best on your body.  No need to waste your time with trumpet styles if a-line silhouettes flatter your figure best.
  3. Recognize a Steal - Make a mental note of the designer's usual prices so you can spot super savings.  A Kenneth Pool ball gown adorned with Swarovski stones for $2,000?  Yes please!
  4. Limit Your Entourage - Bring one, most trusted friend or family member.  You need to be confident in your decision, not confused by other people's opinions. It's about what you want!
  5. Be Selective - You will only be able to pull 5 gowns at a time and will have 30 minutes in the dressing room.
  6. Stay Open to Possibilities - There are so many possibilities in alterations.  Hate the straight across neckline?  Have it changed to sweetheart!  Need something with no train?  Take the extra length off with your hem.
  7. Don't be Afraid of Too Big - Most couture gowns are alterations friendly and can be taken in several sizes to make it perfect for you.
  8. Review Your Selection - As samples, the gowns will be have some shop wear.  Understanding the cleaning and alteration options will make you comfortable with your purchase.
  9. Come Ready To Commit - There are no hold or layaway options, so come ready to purchase the gown before another bride spots it.
  10. Get Excited - Weddings are expensive.  So saving thousands of dollars on your dream dress could also mean there is room in the budget for your dream flowers, or cake, or shoes!  The possibilities are endless!

See you at the Sample Sale, Sunday April 3rd!

And what's a blog post without some pics.. If you never been to Mia Bridal, here's a look into there amazing space over in River Oaks..

I hope you enjoy the event..

Cheers

Hey everyone. Hope your New Years has been amazing. I'm pretty excited about the new things in the works around here. I've been working with my designer Chris Figat on a new blog and portfolio site along with a face lift to the biz.. Can't wait to get it out there. I'm sure you've noticed the lack of blogg'n. Sorry about that. I will be working on some blogs for this week. So much to blog and update. I hope you have a rock'n week.

Cheers

Posted on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at 5:32 PM By clint in crazy workshops , film , news , photography
This week 31films took over our studio for their first ever workshop.. The craziness began on Monday and ended on Tuesday. 13 people ranging from photographers wanting to expand to videographers wanting to step closer to becoming cinematographers. The team over at 31films has some absolutely crazy talent, so when they announced they were putting on a workshop, Brooke, Josh and I said we would be honored if they held it in our studio... I've gotten the chance to work with these guys at some of my weddings and it is always a great time.. They are really the only guys I recommend to my clients. I haven't seen or worked with anyone better.. and I mean that. After you finish checking out this post head over and check out their work. it will blow your mind.
This workshop was about storytelling.. the do's and don'ts. What was great was watching Joey and Aaron give everything they know away. What I love about these guys is they want to add value to our industry.. and they did just that these last two days..

Joey and I were talking on Friday and he asked me if I would mind if they did a quick 60sec promo video of me to show the attendee's what they would do.. I looked at Joey and said, let me think about that for a second....... HECK YEAH!!! I wouldn't mind.. It was pretty cool. Joey and Aaron broke up the attendee's into 3 teams. They would have 30 mins to capture me working with my clients. Joey shot the interview and gave that part to the teams, but the rest was up to them. Then they had 3 hours to edit it in final cut pro. It was truly interesting to see what each team came up with. Let me say, for the limited amount of time and knowledge each team did a great job.. Such a cool experience.

Below is some pics that I captured during the workshop, but the true art is the video promo Joey and Aaron put together in just a couple of hours from shooting to the final edit..
IT. IS. AMAZING!

Joey and Aaron and the team...

you guys tore it up.. I know that your shook up some minds the past couple of days. You are some of the most talented people I know and so giving.. Never loose your hearts for the art you produce. It is changing the industry.. I'm honored to know you guys. Thanks so much for such a cool promo video.. I'm blown away.

I wish you guys all the best.

Well all good things have to come to an end, but in this case, good things are not ending but great things are beginning :) The rock'n Summer St studio is coming to an end. To be honest, I will miss the place, but I can't wait to move into our new and crazy awesome 2300sq ft studio over at Vine st. I'm really blessed to have great business relationships but in this case I get to share the space with some amazing people I call friends... (to be named later ;)

Now the cool thing is that we are looking for one more person to come into the "Circle of Trust"

We are looking for a "clean" "professional" "creative"..

If your interested in talking about the possibilities, all you need to do is give me a call or shoot me a email..

Here's some of the pics of the new space. The whole building is clean but has such a unique feeling.. Something your clients are absolutely going to be awed by. Vine st. has rock'n common areas that can be used for parties or events for no extra cost which is sweet..

thevine1.jpg
Now here's the inside of the massive studio.. The buildout isn't done yet. They are putting in a 5 ton AC unit this week, plus finishing out the walls and paint. When we get into the space we will be adding a Bar, 16ft Cyc Wall, and two client meeting areas.. it's going to be sweet!!

thevine2.jpg
I can't wait for July 1st.. the move party will be rock'n ;)

more is coming...
